Notes:
Palladium is the lightest and has the lowest melting point of all of the
platinum metals of transition Group VIII of the periodic table. A use is of a
catalyst. It is a precious gray-white metal that is extremely ductile. Small
amounts of palladium alloyed with gold produce the best white gold. Its chief
use is for electrical contacts on telephone equiptment.
